Privacy Policy

Introduction

NASTAR is a recreational ski and snowboard racing program owned and operated by Global Reach Sports, LLP ("NASTAR", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to nastar.com, skiracing.nastar.com and the NASTAR mobile app.

Information we collect

  • Account and racer information that you, or a parent or guardian, provide: such as name, contact details, date of birth, sex, Division and category, and teams.
  • Information from NASTAR resorts, which register racers on site and send us race results and registration details.
  • Photos and captions you post.
  • App information needed to send notifications, such as a device identifier and push notification token.
  • Technical information, such as IP addresses in our server logs.
  • Resort and club business information, such as contacts, agreements, orders and payments.

How we use information

We use information to run the NASTAR program and our services: to identify racers, record and publish results and rankings, provide accounts, the app and online race registration, send account messages and the notifications you choose, send NASTAR news, support our resorts, keep our services secure, and meet our legal obligations.

What is public

NASTAR is a public competition. Race results and rankings, including the racer's name, age group, team, hometown and photos posted to the profile, are published on our websites and in the app. You can choose to hide your hometown.

How we share information

  • NASTAR resorts. Racers are the resort's customers. Resorts receive information about racers to run races and serve their customers, and use it under their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers that help us operate our services, such as push notification delivery, protection against automated sign-ups, payment processing and hosting. They may use the information only to provide their service to us, and must protect it as we do.
  • Legal reasons, when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of racers, the public or NASTAR.
  • Business transfers, if NASTAR or its assets are transferred to another organization, which would then be bound by this policy.

We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and tracking

NASTAR uses cookies only where they are necessary to operate the site. When you log in to your NASTAR racer account, we store a cookie that keeps you signed in as you move between pages and between nastar.com and skiracing.nastar.com. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not use analytics or visitor-tracking services. Some pages include content from other services, such as YouTube videos and map images, and those services may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Photos

Photos and captions you post are public. NASTAR reviews posted photos and may remove any photo, or delete any account, that breaks our rules. Anyone logged in can report a photo using the Report link on it, or by emailing support@nastar.com.

How long we keep information

We keep account information while your account exists. Race results, rankings and waiver records are kept permanently, as the competition record and as legal records. We keep other information, such as server logs, app device records and backups, only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the NASTAR app, or on the website at skiracing.nastar.com/index.jsp?pagename=deleteaccount. Deleting your account removes your login, contact details, photos and app and notification information. Your race results and race record remain part of the public competition record, and waiver records are kept. To have your race record removed as well, email support@nastar.com.

Children under 13

An online NASTAR account for a child under 13 is set up by a parent or guardian. When the date of birth shows the racer is under 13, we ask for the parent or guardian's name and email address and their agreement to NASTAR publishing the child's name, age group, race results and hometown (unless hidden), and we email them a notice about the account. We keep a record of their agreement. Photos cannot be posted to the account of a child under 13. A parent or guardian can review or change the child's information, stop further collection, delete the account, or ask us to remove the child's race record, by logging in or emailing support@nastar.com.

Security

We use encrypted connections and take reasonable measures to protect your information. No online service can guarantee complete security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the date at the top.
