For the third year in a row, devoted skiers from approximately 45 states, ranging in age from 3 to 90, will return to the world-class resort to compete for national titles in various divisions of the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships.

“We are excited to bring the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships back to Snowmass Village,” says Bill Madsen, Director of NASTAR Operations. “Our racers have told us that they are eager to return for year three. The Spider Sabich Race Arena provides graduated race venues for all ability levels, and Snowmass’ ski in and ski out accommodations are unmatched in the industry.”

The 2015 event will take place Mar. 19-22 and will bring together the top recreational racers in the country to celebrate the sport of alpine racing and it will serve as the culminating event of the NASTAR season. Both NASTAR and Aspen/Snowmass have planned an exciting week of activities that includes race clinics, races, free concerts, Warren Miller movie screenings, autograph signings by U.S. Ski Team alumni and NASTAR Pacesetters, competitor raffles/giveaways, awards receptions, team races, and slalom racing. Participants and their guests will receive discounts on lift tickets and lodging and they will be given a credential that provides great deals at on-mountain restaurants and in-town discounts on food and beverages, merchandise and recreational activities.

To qualify for the 2015 Championships, NASTAR racers must earn a top national, state or resort ranking in their age and ability category by Presidents Day, February 16, 2015. Racers are grouped by age, gender, division and discipline and each participant will take two runs on Thursday, Mar. 19 and two runs on Friday, Mar. 20. The best handicap score earned on each race day will be averaged to determine the competitors’ final results. Each racer that wins a Nature Valley NASTAR National Championship title is invited to compete in the final Race of Champions competition on Saturday. Racers carry their handicap into the race to level the playing field so that young and veteran racers have an opportunity to win and become the overall Nature Valley NASTAR National Champion. In addition, the fastest man and woman, based on raw time, during the Race of Champions will earn a trip to a U.S. Ski Team event.

The event will also include a family team race, a team race for groups for friends and the new NASTAR Slalom Championships.

Lodging options are available for the 2015 National Championships. If you would like to book ASAP, call the property directly and mention NASTAR.
