OK, so I know I have WAY too much time on my hands, but I went through to see how our little neck of the woods in the Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia region did at Nationals. I would say it did quite well. Here are the results:
MD PA VA
Gold 4 7 4
Silver 5 7 5
Bronze 0 6 1
Totals 9 20 10
Participants 16 39 19
Percentage 56 51 52
No, I don't have the time to do this for every state, I was just interested to see how we did. Not too shabby that over 1/2 of our participants came home with medals. Granted, if my calculations are correct, 469 medals were given out, and (according to Pat, there were 976 sign ups as of 3-18) probably over 1000 racers, so we were just ahead of the curve.
Congratulations MD, PA, and VA on representing well.

Well, that chart didn't work out too well. But I'm sure you can figure it out...

Hey Putterman,
You should take a look at Wyoming's results in the 2009 National Championships. They had 8 racers, and they took home 7 Golds and 1 Silver. They also had the third fastest raw time in the Race of Champions on Sunday.
Possibly one of the best showings for any state this year, eh?

I wanna know how us hacks here in CO did. I think we probably did okay.

Impressive!
I was curious to know how my state, Indiana, did.
21 total participants, 2 golds, 0 silvers, 3 bronzes.
Not as good as the states that Putterman mentioned, nor Wyoming...but for 24% of participants from a state this flat to win medals...not too shabby!
