Looking for Atomic GS11M Race Stock skis (and NEOX bindings) around 170-186 range. Prefer local (or somewhat local) pickup.

We're out of the Race Stock model but have a terrific deal for NASTAR racers on the PB (Power Bridge) model. See my post in another thread.

I'd love to pull the trigger on those, but after buying a new truck, that's a little more than I can spend.

I have a pair of GS11's with Neox 4/12's. They are 176 and are NOT the racerstock version. They have been used for two seasons very lightly (maybe 10 times max). Let me know if your interested and you could demo them. Are you the Eric Martin who was at Bear Creek last night? PM me if interested in trying them.

Call Phil at The Shop @ Swain. He has spanking new gs11 176.

Certainly could ship them, easily enough.

Not to question those 176's, but do they even make racestocks in a 176? I thought the racestocks (Atomics) were 181 and larger...?
Eric_Martin
Can someone that's an Atomic expert chime in? I thought as long as they were 21m... Racer139 has a set of non-race stock 176's that I may get lightly used if the price is right.

Eric - Did'nt you mention in another post that you're trying to earn your first bronze medal? If so, why are you looking for Race Stock skis?

I had a pair of 176 Race Stock Atomic GS11ms (that was the shortest race stock model Atomic sold four years ago - I don't know the minimum length today) with 21.5 meter radius and they were way too much ski for me.

If you're racing at the Bronze level, I'd look at something shorter with a tighter radius.
putterman
I agree Pat. You have to be very aggressive for Racestock.

The only real reason being that I want to get the best that I can afford. I think I've settled on a 176 with the normal radius, however. They're probably around 17m? I'm trying to keep in mind as well that I'm a big guy (6'3" 260 lbs). Something with too tight a radius and less stiffness I'll probably carve too tight of a turn when I throw my weight into it, hockey stop, and go flying a$$ over head down the mountain. icon_mrgreen.gif

Eric....

Back up the bus. You do not want Race Stock. Yup you are big all right. But you are working on your first bronze medal according to your other post.

Get some skis you can enjoy in and out of the course. RS does not always = "best".

Hence, why I think I'm going to go with racer139's 176's instead. After getting some input from people more knowledgeable than myself, I think it's the right call.

Great decision.
