What was it like for Marco Sullivan, Jackie Wiles and Ted Ligety to be at Steamboat Resort for the 2016 NASTAR Nationals? Take it straight from the racehorses’ mouths, as the athletes reveal the inside scoop on just how sweet a week at Steamboat it was.
“I had a lot of fun at NASTAR Nationals. It’s pretty impressive — the amount of enthusiasm for ski racing that the whole NASTAR crew has. It was a big turnout, and they’re all from pretty obscure places that I didn’t even know had skiing, and they all knew who I was and were World Cup fans and were just so psyched about skiing. So that was pretty fun, and it was great to see a whole new genre of fans that we don’t get to cross paths with very often."
“Going into NASTAR Nationals, I didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the fun event. The genuine love for skiing at all levels of ski ability and experience was infectious. I witnessed skiers from age 5 to 87 inspiring each other, myself included. I truly enjoyed my time being a pacesetter and skiing with all the competitors. It was an honor and a privilege attending, and I look forward to doing it again the future."
"It was awesome to see the enthusiasm of all the NASTAR racers at Steamboat for Nationals. NASTAR is where I got my start, and it's a vital part of ski racing in America.”
