Skia Trainer helps build confidence

Skia Trainer helps build confidence

Finding that place on our skis where everything feels right with the world is euphoric.

Revolutionize the way you ski, whatever your level of ability.

We strive to find that perfect balance every time we make a turn, but the sensation is elusive. How can we capture the body position, edge angle and pressure that brought us that euphoric feeling every time we turn our skis? We can’t, but that is precisely what brings us back to the slopes time and time again. We are constantly seeking the perfect run but we know in the dark recesses of our minds that perfection is purely an aspiration that can never be realized. Yet the quest continues because the path is so much fun.

The Skia trainer is a simple device that helps develop balancing skills when we are not skiing. Using a graduated series of blocks the Skia trainer helps us find our center so that while we are skiing we can more readily gain our balance in our pursuit of the perfect turn.

There are a lot of obstacles that prevent us from linking one perfect turn after the next. Snow conditions, terrain changes, visibility, physical fitness and strength are the leading contributors, but the grey matter between our ears is really what holds us back more than anything. Gaining confidence in our abilities can bring us closer to our goal and confidence is gained from our experiences and repetition.

Using the Skia trainer regularly can help us increase the amount of time we engage our point of balance so we can gain confidence in a balanced athletic status so that we can dive into each turn with the composure to seek perfection.

Confidence is king. When we are nervous our muscles shorten, our breathing is shallow and our focus is narrow. When we click into our skis with confidence we feel loose, we can exhale through our center and we can owe our turns.
