The Rocky Mountain Regional Pacesetting Trials took place at the home of this season's NASTAR National Championships, Snowmass, CO.
The team from Aspen Mountain beat a hard charging crew of pacesetters from Ski Cooper to take the win by .054 of a team point. Third place went to Steamboat and Durango Mountain and Winter Park rounded out the top five.
The surprise of the day came from 11 year old Nicholas Unkovskoy from Durango. Nick recorded at 5.5 handicap in the NASTAR slalom race beating his Dad and all the other pacesetters too. It was a perfect day for racing with blue skies, firm snow and great camaraderie. Do you remember the first time you beat your Dad?
Both Snowmass and Aspen mountains offer NASTAR racing all season long. At Snowmass, the public NASTAR course is on Blue Grouse trail.
