Eastern Championships-Team Race
Due to the popularity of the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships we are adding an Eastern Championship. The Nature Valley NASTAR Eastern Championships provides recreational racers with an opportunity to compete against their peers in a modified GS race on Saturday and with their family members and friends in a team competition on Sunday. There will be race clinics, races, a sponsor village, live music, Warren Miller movies, professional pacesetters, autograph sessions and more.
Participants will compete within their age and ability group on Saturday and the top three racers in each division will win awards and automatically qualify for the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships to be held at Aspen/Snowmass, CO March 20-24. In addition, the 1st place racer in each age, gender, division and discipline will be invited to compete in the Race of Champions on Sunday. The Race of Champions is a handicapped race where young and old have an opportunity to win the Overall NASTAR Eastern Championship title based on their discounted time. And, the male and female racers that post the fastest raw times during the Race of Champions will win complimentary entry to the National Championships.
The team competition will take place on Sunday after the Race of Champions and family members and friends will compete in teams of three or more for team titles. Team members will score points for their team based on the handicap they earn in their age and gender group. NASTAR Team Points are a great way to level the playing field so that young and old racers have an equal opportunity to contribute to their teams' success.
Schedule
- Feb. 1, Friday * Okemo will host race clinics for interested participants. Contact them for details: 802-228-1483
- Ski with AJ Kitt and some of Okemo's best pros.
- 12:00pm-5:00pm Preregister Racers can pick up their race packets & Late Registration Competition Center
- Feb. 2, Saturday * Nature Valley Eastern Championships
- 8:00am-12:00pm Preregister Racers can pick up their race packets & Late Registration Competition Center
- 9am - 3pm Visit the Sponsor Village in the Clock Tower Base Area
- 10:00am Junior Racers 20 years and younger on the NASTAR Race Arena on Bull Run
- 12:30 Adult Racers 21 years and older
- All participants will take two race runs but only the best race run handicap will count for awards
- Racers will be placed in either the Platinum/Gold division or the Silver/Bronze division depending on the best handicap earned.
- 6 - 9:30pm Awards & Racer Reception in the Clock Tower Base Lodge, including Warren Miller's Flow State - Director's Cut, Awards Ceremony, Prize Raffle and Live Music - Pete Kilpatrick Band
- 8:00am-12:00pm Preregister Racers can pick up their race packets & Late Registration Competition Center
- Feb. 3, Sunday * Race of Champions & Team Racing

All Participants and Guests six (6) years of age and under shall receive a complimentary lift ticket for use during the Event.
Participants are eligible to purchase lift tickets for family members and guests during the event at the discounted rate.
Guests with a credential may purchase lift tickets for the discounted rate.
Credentials will get you on the lift at 8:00 AM each day, Friday – Sunday.
