Resort Participation Numbers
With more than 170,000 Racer Days, the NASTAR program experienced another great season. Park City Mountain Resort once again recorded the most racer days in the country and Wachusett Mountain edged out Cranmore Mountain Resort for second overall. Last year the two New England resorts were separated by 220 Racer Days and this year Wachusett had just 192 more Racer Days than Cranmore.

The Regional Rankings show Pats Peak taking third place in the New England Region behind Wachusett and Cranmore.

Windham Mountain was the top resort in the Midatlantic Region followed by Seven Springs and Montage Mountain Resort.

In the Mid-West Region, Buck Hill ranked first but WIJARA (Wisconsin Junior Alpine Racing Assoc.) was less than 100 Racer Days behind. WIJARA's participation stats ranks them among the top five NASTAR programs in the country. This is an impressive stat for the organization as they increased participation by 450% over last season.

The Rocky Mountain Division was won by Aspen Mountain, which increased their participation numbers by 20% over last season. The RFID system on Aspen Mt. was one of the main contributors to the resort's increase in participation and moving the timing system from the bottom of the course to the top of the venue also helped improve their efficiency. Steamboat placed second in the region and Snowmass ranked third.

Region five was dominated by Park City but Deer Valley had another solid season to place second in the region and seventh overall. Schweitzer Mountain Resort took third place in the West ahead of perennial rival Sun Valley.

It is impressive to note that Wachusett Mountain, MA ranked first in the country based on the number of starts. This is a telling statistic because it shows how active their NASTAR venue was throughout the season. Park City ranked second ahead of Cranmore Mountain Resort, Steamboat, Buck Hill and Aspen Mountain.

Park City hosted the most NASTAR racers with 8,755 followed by Aspen Mountain, Deer Valley, Snowmass, Steamboat and Boyne Highlands.

Steamboat held the most NASTAR races at 157 but Deer Valley was close behind with 155. Aspen Mountain held 125 NASTAR races, Wachusett had 119 races and Snowmass recorded results for 95 races in addition to hosting the National Championships.

Aspen Mountain also deserves acknowledgement for winning the Resort Team Competition at the National Championships. It is always hard to beat the home team, but Winter Park Resort had a really fast team to take second place ahead of the team from Welch Village, MN.
