Qualifying for the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championship is a great accomplishment but winning a National Title takes the experience to the next level. Racers that win a National Championship title in their age and ability group are invited to compete in a final race, The Race of Champions. Winning the Race of Champions is prestigious, but the reward is amazing. The fastest male and female racers from The Race of Champions are given an expense paid trip to train with the U.S. Ski Team. Nature Valley, NASTAR and the U.S. Ski Team have come together to provide this unique reward to the fastest recreational racers in the country.
Last year the snow it South America was not good enough to have a training camp, so this year Robbie Zehner was able to take his Dad with him. NASTAR racing provides a format for families to race together, so having Robbie and his Dad represent NASTAR is a perfect connection between NASTAR and the U.S. Ski Team.
We see NASTAR as the fan base for American ski racing. Our goal is to make the stars of the U.S. Ski Team accessible to the fans of the sport. We want young racers to look towards successful athletes like NASTAR Ambassador, Ted Ligety and aspire to attain similar goals.
The U.S. Ski Team's goal is simple. All Out! The Men's Team is skiing fast and the training in Chile is the perfect preparation for the early World Cup races. When the World Cup comes to America, our men will be ready.
