During the initial registration process, participants can only select one discipline, however, during the season racers can choose a different discipline based on what they are riding that day. For example, you may register initially as an Alpine Skier but you want to race on a snowboard or on telemark skis. Simply tell starter to change your discipline in the race. The results will be added to your Race Record and you will receive a ranking accordingly.

When a participant races in a discipline other than Alpine Skier they receive a handicap discount. Snowboarders, Telemarkers, Snowbikers and Physically Challenged Racers receive handicap discounts toward winning NASTAR medals and scoring points for their team(s). The actual handicap earned is the handicap that is recorded and posted on your race record.
