What is the NASTAR community?

Welcome to our new and improved site. Here, you can interact with other racers on the forum, post your own photos and stories, and read the latest news on racing, skiing, resorts, family activities, and gear. Log in to join the conversation.

Why do I need two logins?

You might have noticed that our site has changed. We've added a new and improved forum, a photo section where you can share your own photos, and ski tips, travel ideas, and more to keep your racing improving. To be a part of the community you'll need to register and create an account. We encourage all NASTAR members to use their NASTAR Registration Number and password when they create their NASTAR community log in to simplify their experience.

Our goal is to be progressive and to always provide NASTAR participants with, “the next generation of ski racing”. We want NASTAR racers to have the best on-mountain and online experience possible. You will notice many changes to the NASTAR web site, all of which we hope will add to your racing experience. There are two login options listed at the top of any NASTAR page.

Welcome, Login to NASTAR Racing or Community.

When you login under NASTAR Racing you will have control of your NASTAR race record and a yellow Race Tools box will appear in your record:

RACE TOOLS
 Update/Edit Personal Information
 Merge Race Results
 Change Name
 Edit / Delete Photo
 Printer-Friendly Version

If you choose the Community login option you will be asked to create a new user name and password, unless you are already a member of the community. Those of you that have contributed to the NASTAR forum in the past will be familiar with having a separate NASTAR user ID and password. Logging in to the NASTAR Community allows you to post comments on editorial pages and join the conversation within the NASTAR Forum. Your comments and feedback are important so that we can continue to improve the NASTAR program.

Alpine racing has always been considered an individual sport that rewards only the very best for their achievement, but racing is really about bringing people together. The camaraderie that surrounds the sport is what brings us back to the gates year after year. The NASTAR Community is essentially a group or team of people that share a similar interest. Our goal is to connect alpine racers across the country and develop a team atmosphere to improve the sport.

Team racing has always been one of the most popular forms of NASTAR competition because the NASTAR handicap system allows teams to compete on a level playing field regardless of age or gender. There are not many sports where we can compete on the same team with our kids, our parents, our grandparents and our friends. The NASTAR.com web site provides participants with a resource that brings the team camaraderie created on the mountain to the personal computer or smart phone. NASTAR's social network allows participants to develop a dialog with race league friends, family members or other top ranked NASTAR racers at 120 resorts. As a member of the NASTAR Community you can play an important role in contributing to the development of NASTAR program.

We want you to inspire, challenge and sometimes give your friends a good ribbing. We want to see more families and friends skiing and racing together so that the sport continues to grow. We have seen NASTAR participation grow every year since we started putting race results and rankings online in 1997 and with your help the new NASTAR.com experience will provide the next generation of ski and snowboard racers with a new and exciting online experience.
